Caroline our Medical Herbalist will be hosting the Oxted branch of NHR. The evening will consist of an Introductory talk on Herbal Medicine A tour of the facilities at Chartwell Apothecary and some time left aside to test the beautiful range of therapeutic plant preparations by Verde, and some sampling of our unique Herbal Tea blends.

Your Kitchen Cupboard Pharmacy
Caroline our Medical Herbalist presented to the Hadlow Garden Club “The Kitchen Cupboard Pharmacy” at 20:00. During the presentation she introduced the audience to the ingredients found commonly in their kitchens which also have medicinal properties. Their uses and methods of application were discussed at length, after which there was time for the Herbal Tea Break or coffee for those who preferred.

Medicinal Herb Identification Walk
Caroline lead a Medicinal Herb Identification Walk for 12 Members. This was a practice run for the following walks lead during Herbal Medicine Awareness Week. Commencing from Chartwell Apothecary the walk proceeded up into the beautiful meadows above the town. Although it was not a long walk it lasted for 2 hours during which time the attendees were introduced to the abundance of medicinal plants growing all around. and how to utilise their properties. Returning to the Apothecary we sampled some tea made from several of the plants that we had just discussed particularly Nettle and Elderflower.

Herbal Medicine Awareness Week - walks
During Herbal Medicine Awareness Week our Medical Herbalist lead three Medicinal Herb Identification Walks around Westerham to explain how many of our most familiar and commonly found hedgerow plants can and are used medicinally. 34 people attended during the week. The walks started and ended at Chartwell Apothecary. Herbal Tea was offered as refreshment upon returning.

Caroline hosted a talk to the Brasted Ladies Group entitled “ How Can Herbal Medicine Help Me? This talk was attended by 10 ladies and an enjoyable evening and lively discussion ensued. After which a tour of the clinic followed and two blends of Herbal Tea were tasted. These included ‘Totally Knackered Tea” and “Sweet Chilli Tea” both made in the fully equipped herbal dispensary.

Back Pain and Beyond
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of conditions. It is a study of anatomy, physiology and body function. Osteopathy works with the structure and function of the body to return it to it's best possible function. In this informal talk Genevieve will discuss the scope of Osteopathy, taking in the modern epidemic of back pain, joint pain and much more.

Caroline presented her ‘Kitchen Cupboard Pharmacy” talk during the afternoon to members of KIC (Kent International Club), a group of ladies who have all been living as Expats in the past but have now returned to live in the UK. A lively Q&A session followed and attendees were also shown around the clinic and introduced to the delights of our range of Verde products.

Caroline gave a talk to the members of the Edenbridge Rotary Club. A Basic Introduction to Herbal Medicine. Caroline took along some items of equipment that she uses daily in her dispensary and books to help explain how she works.

Caroline our Medical Herbalist will discuss the topic of gluten sensitivity, and how to become gluten free the easy way. Some sampling of favourite recipes and plenty of advice and tips along the way.

Apothecary Joined in the Pre-Christmas celebrations in Westerham and dressed a Christmas Tree in St Mary’s Church from Saturday 25th November - 6th December complete with Tilea the Herbal Tea Fairy resplendent at the very top.

Late Night Christmas Shopping Event
The doors to the Apothecary were thrown open to the residents of Westerham who were out in force to enjoy the pre-christmas festivities. The lights on the Christmas Tree on the Green were turned on by JLS star JB. Meanwhile inside the clinic Non-alcoholic mulled fruit punch was served along with some gluten free goodies. A fabulous social evening in the town was enjoyed by many.
